Kozhikode. Odisha FC lifted the Super Cup football tournament for the first time by defeating Bengaluru FC 2-1 in the final here on Tuesday. Diego Mauricio of Brazil scored two goals for Odisha in the first half of the match played amid rain. Sunil Chhetri converted the penalty in the 84th minute for Bangalore. However, the 2018 winners Bengaluru FC’s team could only reduce the margin of defeat with this goal.

With the victory of Odisha, its coach Clifford Miranda also created history. He became the first Indian coach to win the Super Cup. The team of Bengaluru FC was playing the third final of the season but the winners of the Durand Cup were disappointed here as in the final of the Indian Super League.
