Pakistan is on the verge of snatching the hosting of Asia Cup 2023. Troubled by snatching the hosting on the international stage, Pakistan is trying to do everything possible to keep the hosting with itself. In this episode, Pakistan has given a new threat. Pakistan has said that it will not take part in the ICC World Cup to be held in India later this year.
In fact, it has become clear from the Indian side that if the Asia Cup is organized in Pakistan, then India will not be a part of this tournament. Asia Cricket Council Chairman and BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has already cleared India’s stand on this matter. Tension continues between the two countries regarding this matter.
Meanwhile, it has come to the fore that if India does not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then Pakistan will not be a part of the World Cup to be held in India in the month of October-November. It is being said that PCB chairman Nazim Sethi has objected to India’s attitude.
Decision will be taken in March
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will decide on an alternate venue for the Asia Cup ODI tournament in March after the first formal meeting between BCCI secretary Jay Shah and PCB chairman Najam Sethi in Bahrain on Saturday. The Asia Cup hosting rights were initially given to Pakistan and it was to be held in September 2023 but ACC chairman Shah announced in October last year that India would not tour Pakistan.

It is to be noted that three UAE venues – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah – are strong contenders to host the tournament but the decision has been put on hold for the time being. All heads of ACC member states attended the emergency meeting, which was called at the behest of PCB chairman Sethi after the ACC released the continental body’s schedule, in which Pakistan was not named as the host.
