Panama qualifies for Women’s World Cup after beating Paraguay 1-0
Hamilton. Panama on Thursday clinched the 32nd and final place in this year’s FIFA Women’s Football World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand after beating Paraguay 1-0 in a play-off here. Panama’s winning goal of the match was scored by substitute Lineth Sequeno in the 75th minute with a header, as the team qualified for the World Cup for the first time.

Panama has been drawn in Group F of the World Cup along with Brazil, Jamaica and France. Panama is the third team to qualify from the 10-team intercontinental play-off tournament held in New Zealand last week. Earlier, Haiti and Portugal also made it to the tournament for the first time.
