Ronaldo won the team by scoring a goal in the 200th match for Portugal

Berlin. Cristiano Ronaldo became the first male player to make 200 international appearances and celebrated the feat by scoring an 89th-minute goal as Portugal beat Iceland 1-0 in a European Football Championship qualifier. Ronaldo, 38, was honored by Guinness World Records ahead of his 200th cap for Portugal nearly 20 years after his debut. Ronaldo scored on Tuesday to seal a fourth win in four matches in Group J as Portugal strengthened their bid to qualify for Euro 2024. Norway beat Cyprus 3-1 thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland, while two goals from Romelu Lukaku helped Belgium beat Estonia 3-0.

Poland, however, lost 2–3 against Moldova despite having a two-goal lead. Euro 2024 hosts Germany also suffered a 0-2 defeat against Colombia in a friendly match. Ronaldo scored his 123rd international goal for Portugal in Group J. He brought the ball into the goal from Gonzalo Inácio’s header. In other group matches, Luxembourg beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2–0 while Slovakia beat Liechtenstein 1–0. Despite Norway’s win in Group A, Scotland beat Georgia 2-0 to keep their place at the top of the points table.

The start of the match between Scotland and Georgia was delayed by around an hour and 40 minutes due to heavy rain and water logging on the ground. Scotland have won all four of their matches so far. Georgia’s team is in second place, four points behind Scotland. Norway’s team is in third place with four points from four matches. Spain has three points from two matches. In Group E, Poland lost to Moldova, their second defeat in three matches, despite a goal from star Robert Lewandowski. Albania beat the Faroe Islands 3–1 and finished second in the group. Czech Republic is on top.

Poland is second from bottom with three points. Lukaku scored twice in three minutes as Belgium beat Estonia 3-0 in Group F. Yohan Bukayoko also scored for Belgium.Austria beat Sweden 2–0 in the other group match with two goals from Christoph Baumgartner. Austria is on top with 10 points from three matches. He has maintained a three-point lead over Belgium. In Group G, Hungary beat Lithuania 2-0 while Bulgaria and Serbia drew 1-1. Hungary is on top of the group with seven points. Serbia also have seven points but are in second place due to poor goal difference.
