The allegations made by social media ‘influencer’ Sapna Gill against Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw that she was molested at a pub in suburban Andheri area of ​​Mumbai are baseless, according to the police.

The investigating officer (IO) involved in the investigation of this case provided complete information about the case to the magistrate conducting the hearing in the court. In this regard, the investigation report has also been submitted to the court. In this investigation report, the police has given detailed information about the whole case. After handing over this report, it is believed that Prithvi Shaw may get relief.

Sapna Gill’s lawyer Ali Kashif Khan has sought permission from the court to produce the video footage of the alleged brawl after the police report was submitted to the court. This video was recorded by Gill’s friend on his phone, which later went viral in the video.

He also sought CCTV footage of the incident that took place outside the pub. The court asked the police to hand over the footage of the entire incident and adjourned the hearing till June 28. Gill had filed a complaint before a magistrate court in Andheri, charging Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav with Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty). ), had requested to register an FIR under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) and section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or other means). Gill alleges that Shaw and Ashish attacked him with a bat in February.

Before moving the court, Gill had approached the airport police station in Andheri to file a molestation case against Shaw and his friend. Police told the court that examination of the CCTV footage of the pub revealed that Gill and his friend Shobit Thakur were dancing under the influence of alcohol. According to the police, Thakur wanted to record Shaw with his mobile phone, but the cricketer stopped him from taking the video. Police said that going through the footage, it does not appear that Shaw and others molested Gill in any way. Police said they have recorded statements of witnesses present at the pub where the alleged incident took place and they said that no one touched Gill inappropriately.

The police also examined CCTV footage from around the air traffic control (ATC) tower and found that social media ‘influencer’ Gill was chasing Shaw’s car with a baseball bat in her hand. Police told the court that footage showed Gill smashing the windscreen of the cricketer’s car. The report also states that the police have also recorded the statements of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers and they have also said that no such incident took place as claimed by Gill. The police said that the investigation carried out as per Gill’s complaint revealed that the allegations against Prithvi Shaw and others are false and baseless.
