Schedule announced for World Cup 2023, will start on October 5, India vs Pakistan on 15th in Ahmedabad

The schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India has been announced by the ICC. The World Cup will begin on October 5 with England and New Zealand clashing at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hosts India will take on Australia in their first match on October 8 in Chennai while the thriller against Pakistan will take place on October 15 in Ahmedabad. The announcement of the World Cup schedule was delayed several times. Whereas the schedule of World Cup 2019 and 2015 was announced a year in advance.
A total of 10 teams will participate in this mega event, the first eight teams have already qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The final two places will be determined at the end of the qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, which ends on July 9. Each team will play the other nine in a round-robin format, with the top four qualifying for the knockout stage and the semi-finals. The much-anticipated India-Pakistan match is all set to take place in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 15 October.
