Khelo India Youth Games begins in Madhya Pradesh from today, Chouhan inaugurated

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the fifth season of ‘Khelo India Youth Games’ at Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium here on Monday evening. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik and Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia were present on the occasion. Chouhan said that I welcome and congratulate the sportsperson sons and daughters who have come from every corner of the country to the heart of the country, on the soil of Madhya Pradesh. He said that ‘Khelo India Youth Games’ is truly historic for the future of sports.

Chouhan said, “Today when ‘Khelo India Youth Games’ are starting, I am proud to say that yesterday India’s daughters won the Under-19 T-20 World Cup.” I congratulate him. Madhya Pradesh’s daughter Saumya Tiwari played an unbeaten innings in the final match and hit the winning shot. “He said,” Madhya Pradesh is also not far behind under the leadership of Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Our sports budget was earlier Rs 5 crore, but now it has increased to Rs 347 crore.

There will be no dearth of funds in Madhya Pradesh to take forward the sports, to enhance the talent of the players.” These games will be organized on 23 grounds in eight cities of Madhya Pradesh and more than 6000 players will participate in 27 sports. It will be organized in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Khargone. A cycling competition will be held in Delhi. For the first time, sports like Kayaking, Canoeing, Canoe Salaam and Fencing will be part of these Games.
