David Warner-led Delhi Capitals (DC) registered their third win of the season by defeating defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Not many would have thought that the pitch at the world’s largest cricket stadium would be on the slow side as Gujarat Titans played host to Delhi Capitals. Aman Hakim Khan’s career-best first half-century after Mohammed Shami’s career-best bowling helped Delhi Capitals recover from a very poor start to score 130 for eight in the Indian Premier League against Gujarat Titans here on Tuesday. In this match, the Delhi team won by performing with a bang.

After this match, there has been a change in the points table as well. The result of the GT vs DC fixture has no bearing on the IPL 2023 points table. Both GT and DC stand at opposite ends of the spectrum. While Gujarat are leading the IPL 2023 points table, Delhi Capitals are placed at the bottom of the table with six points from nine matches. Gujarat Titans are leading with 12 points from nine matches, followed by Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings with 10 points from nine matches in IPL 2023.

An impressive four-wicket spell against Delhi Capitals (DC) saw GT’s Mohammed Shami top the IPL 2023 Purple Cap table. Mohammed Shami has taken four wickets in the match played against Delhi. Currently he is on top of the list of purple cap holders with 17 wickets. He is followed by Tushar Deshpande of Chennai Super Kings who has taken 17 wickets. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj of Bangalore and Rashid Khan of Gujarat are in third and fourth place.
