Dennis Amiss is such a batsman from England who came up with a unique trick to face the fast bowler. He decided to face the fast bowlers wearing a bike helmet and for the first time landed on the field wearing a bike helmet. After this there was a new beginning which till date has proved to be successful in saving the players from getting injured.
 
Please tell that Dennis Amis was born on 7th April 1943, who is now 80 years old. He was the first to wear this helmet on the cricket field. Let us tell you that in the year 1977, the batsmen were very upset in facing an Australian bowler. Troubled by the deadly bowling of Australian bowlers, he first started playing wearing a helmet on the cricket field. Dennis Amiss, the England batsman, also scored the first century in One Day International cricket. He achieved this feat in his debut match itself. The special thing is that Dennis has been the first batsman to achieve this feat in the debut match itself. In the year 1972, on August 24, he made this great record in his name against Australia in the match played in Manchester. Please tell that this match was the second ODI match of the world which was played between England and Australia. In this match, England’s Dennis Amiss performed an excellent batting innings of 103 runs in 134 balls.
 
Achievement achieved in World Cup as well
The name of scoring the first century in the World Cup is also in the name of Dennis Amis. He scored the first century in the 1975 World Cup match played at Lord’s ground. He scored this century in the match played against India. Dennis had scored 137 runs in this brilliant innings, but his innings was halted by Madan Lal and he was bowled.
