UEFA EURO Qualifier: Portugal won Ronaldo’s 199th match, Norway lost to Scotland despite Haaland’s goal

Cristiano Ronaldo is hugged by a fan as Portugal beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 to secure their third win in 2024 European Championship qualifiers. Erling Haaland scored on his return to Norway’s team but Scotland still failed to qualify for the Euros. Scotland came from behind in the qualifying event for next year’s European Football Championship (Euro) to win 2-1.

Ronaldo showed his strength
Portugal beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 with the help of two goals from Bruno Fernandez in the 199th international match of the great player Cristiano Ronaldo. Belgium, playing without the injured Kevin De Bruyne, held Austria to a 1-1 draw. Scotland top Group A after beating Norway and eyeing a second straight European Championship berth for the first time since 1996. Midfielder Bruno Fernandes scored twice and set up Bernardo Silva to break the deadlock in minute 44 of an equally controversial first half. Bernardo Silva, fresh from celebrating Manchester City’s treble, opened the scoring just before the break at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, and Manchester United star Fernandes added the second with 13 minutes remaining.

Haaland, playing in his first international match since injury in March, gave Norway the lead in the 61st minute with a penalty but was then replaced by the coach, who took advantage of Scotland’s two goals in two minutes to seal the victory. The defeat dealt a blow to Norway’s hopes of qualifying. The team has only one point in two matches. Spain has three points from two matches. The team had to face defeat against Scotland. In the other group match, Georgia beat Cyprus 2-1. In Group E, two goals from Václav Cerny helped the Czech Republic beat the Faroe Islands 3-0 to extend their lead at the top of the group to four points. Albania’s team has reached the third position from the last position after defeating Moldova 2-0. In Group F, Belgium held Austria to a 1-1 draw after coming from behind through Romelu Lokaku. Austria continues to top the group. They hold a three-point lead over Belgium but have played one match more.

Azerbaijan held Estonia to a 1-1 draw. Second-placed Hungary had a chance to overtake Serbia at the top of Group G but were held to a goalless draw by Montenegro. Lithuania held Bulgaria to a 1–1 draw after the 17th minute despite playing with 10 men. In Group J, Portugal beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 to register their third straight win. Ronaldo played his 199th match for Portugal and has his sights set on becoming the first male player to play 200 matches for the country. Portugal’s team will take on Iceland on Tuesday. Portugal have scored 13 goals in the qualifiers so far with none against them. Slovakia’s team beat Iceland 2-1 and are two points behind them in second place.
