Will continue to play fearless cricket: KKR assistant coach

Kolkata Knight Riders assistant coach James Foster on Friday said that his team will continue to play fearless cricket despite having a tumultuous season. KKR have returned to winning ways by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore but they still need to win at least five of the remaining six matches to seal a place in the playoffs. Foster said before the match against Gujarat Titans, “The batsmen have been asked to play fearlessly. This is what we talked about in the meeting. Sometimes everything doesn’t go according to plan but that takes the pressure off. There is no pressure on this team.

He said that his team reached the finals in 2021 after a similar situation when they bounced back from four consecutive defeats in the first phase. He said, “We like challenges. This is an exciting opportunity. We have come out of such situations in the past as well and reached the finals. Many players were still in the team at that time. We came here with full confidence.” Defending Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, who are struggling with poor form, he said, “Russell and Narine are superstars. Narine has been the star of the team for a long time. He is working very hard. Sometimes you get wickets but sometimes you are also able to put pressure on the opposition. We are not worried.
