India have decided to go with four fast bowlers in this match, due to which off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has not found a place in the playing XI. Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and all-rounder Shardul Thakur will play the role of fast bowlers while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is the only spinner in the playing XI. Australia has also given a chance to fast bowler Scott Boland in this match.
