WTC Final: This player will get a chance in the playing XI in place of Josh Hazlewood, confirmed by the Australian captain

India and Australia are set to face each other in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) from June 7 at the Oval in London. However, Australia suffered a major setback before the match. His main fast bowler Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the crucial match. The big question is who will replace Josh Hazlewood in the Australia playing XI. Now with almost 24 hours before the WTC final, Australian skipper Pat Cummins has confirmed his replacement.

This fast bowler will take place

Pacer Scott Boland is set to replace Hazlewood in Australia’s playing XI for the WTC final. Boland last played for Australia in the second Test of the four-match series against India in Nagpur. He bowled only 17 overs in which he conceded 34 runs. He could not take a wicket as Australia lost the match by an innings and 32 runs. He will be joined by skipper Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon in the bowling attack. Together with Hazlewood, all three have done the job for Australia over the years.

Boland’s test

With the Ashes coming up, the Aussies will be hoping for Boland to step up to the maiden WTC final and do well for them. Cummins confirmed Boland’s place in the playing XI and also more or less set Australia’s line-up for the clash against India. Travis Head can be sent down the order. He was opening the innings in the absence of David Warner on the tour of India. Unless there are last-minute injuries, Australia are unlikely to make any changes.
