Babar said that if Shaheen had done that over then the story could have been different

Pakistan captain Babar Azam said after losing the T20 World Cup final against England that the result could have been different had fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi not been injured during the match. Afridi was injured while taking the catch of Harry Brooks. He was put on the attack in the 16th over but he could only bowl one delivery and then off-spinner Iftikhar Ahmed completed the over. Due to this, the bowling balance of Pakistan was badly disturbed.

Ahmed conceded 13 runs in that over which included a six and four from Ben Stokes. This took the pressure off England. Babar said after the match, “If Shaheen had done that over, things could have been different. Then two left-handed batsmen (Stokes and Moeen Ali) were at the crease and so I handed the ball to the off-spinner. England bowlers bowled well but there is no excuse here. We played according to the conditions but we were under pressure till the 20th over. Had Shaheen been there, the story could have been different.
