By defeating SRH, MI would like to pave the way for the playoffs, the match between the two will be important.

Mumbai Five-time champions Mumbai Indians are yet to seal their way to the playoffs this year. Mumbai Indians currently remain at number six in the points table with 13 points. On the other hand, on Sunday, Mumbai Indians will look to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad with the intention of cementing their place in the playoff race. Mumbai would like to get a big win in this match. This would be the last match of Mumbai Indians in the league match, on the basis of whose victory, the way ahead for the team will be decided in the IPL.

The Sunrisers team is already out of the race for the playoffs but Mumbai still have a chance and are eager to take advantage of it. Mumbai have done well at their home ground at the Wankhede Stadium. He has won four matches here so far while he had to face defeat in two matches. The Rohit Sharma-led side will look to take full advantage of the home conditions. This will also be his last chance to improve his net run rate. Mumbai currently have 14 points from 13 matches and need to win by a big margin as another team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also have a chance to reach 16 points. His net run rate is better than Mumbai.

Right now the three teams have the same 14 points. Of these, Rajasthan Royals have played all their matches but their net run rate is better than Mumbai. RCB is in fourth place due to better net run rate among these three teams. If Mumbai wins this match and RCB loses to Gujarat Titans in another match, then Mumbai team will reach the playoffs but if both these teams win then the team with better net run rate will advance. If Mumbai have to reach the next round, then they will not have to miss the opportunity like in the last match when their team lost to Lucknow Supergiants by five runs, due to which they missed two important points. Mumbai’s biggest concern at their home ground is the bowling as they have scored more than 200 runs in four consecutive matches against them.

Mumbai lost control of the match on several occasions due to poor bowling in the death overs. Despite Rohit not being in his best form, Suryakumar Yadav, Tim David, Cameron Green, Ishan Kishan and Nehal Badhera kept themselves in the race for the playoffs with the batting of the team. All these batsmen will leave no stone unturned to perform well against Sunrisers as well. Rohit has not been able to reach double figures in five matches but he scored 29 and 37 in the last two matches and Mumbai will be hoping that the skipper will once again get the team off to a good start. As for Sunrisers, they have nothing to lose and will look to end their campaign with a win. In the last match against RCB, the team had to face defeat despite Heinrich Klaasen’s century.
