Case filed for making objectionable video on woman doing Diploma, SAI also formed internal committee

Bangalore. A case has been registered against a woman pursuing diploma in volleyball coaching at the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) campus in the city for making an objectionable video of her classmate. The police gave this information on Friday. After the matter came to light, the SAI officials suspended the accused and constituted an internal committee to probe the disciplinary violation at the Diploma Girls Hostel in Mallathahalli.

The victim, who is pursuing diploma in Taekwondo coaching, in her complaint lodged with SAI officials and Gyanbharti police, said that on the night of March 28, when she was taking a bath, she realized that someone was recording her video. She immediately came outside and saw that the woman, who was training to be a volleyball coach, was videoing her. A SAI official said the accused was suspended the next morning.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 354 (outraging modesty) and 201 (destroying evidence) of the Indian Penal Code, police said. According to a SAI release, on March 28, a trainee at the ‘SAI Diploma Girls Hostel’ was allegedly videotaped by another woman of the institute.

The committee has been directed to submit its report at the earliest, the statement said. SAI has also helped the alleged victim in filing a police complaint.” He added, ”Considering the sensitivity of the matter, the matter was reported to the police and an FIR was registered on March 29.” He added, “She has been allowed to vacate the hostel on March 30 after getting clearance from the police.
