Hockey India names 39 players for national camp

New Delhi. Hockey India announced a 39-member men’s core group for the national coaching camp starting at the SAI (Sports Authority of India) Bengaluru center from Saturday. The national team is usually selected from among the core group of players. This camp will run till May 21 before the tour of Europe. The team will then travel to Europe to take on Belgium, Great Britain, Netherlands and Argentina in the remaining matches of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022-2023 season.

The core team will report to interim coaches David John, BJ Cariappa and Shivendra Singh. The Indian men’s hockey team has topped the table in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022-23 season after impressive wins against defending world champions Germany and Australia in Rourkela recently.

The core group consists of Krishna Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera, Pawan Malik, Prashant Kumar, Jarmanpreet Singh, Surendra Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Gurinder Singh, Jugraj Singh, Mandeep Mor, Neelam Sanjeep Jess, Sanjay, Yashdeep Apart from Siwach and Dipsan Tirkey, Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Moirangtham Rabichandra Singh, Shamsher Singh, Neelkant Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, Sumit, Akashdeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Mo. The names of Raheel Mousin, Maninder Singh, S Karthi, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, Dilpreet Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Simranjit Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Manjit, Pawan Rajbhar are included.
