Indian women’s hockey team will tour Australia for Asian Games preparations

The Indian women’s hockey team will tour Australia to play a five-match series as part of their preparations for the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China. This tour of the Indian team will start on May 18 and end on May 27. The Indian team will face the Australian national team in the first three matches while the last two matches will be played against the Australia A team. All matches will be played in Adelaide. India will play its first match against Australia on May 18, followed by the next two matches on May 20 and 21.

The Indian team will play Australia A on May 25 and 27. The Australian women’s hockey team is currently ranked third in the world rankings while the Indian team is ranked eighth. This tour of the Indian team will be organized in connection with the preparations for the Asian Games which are to be held in September-October this year. Commenting on the tour, Indian coach Yaneke Schoepmann said, “Playing against Australia on their soil will help us assess where we stand against the top women’s teams in the world.” ,

u“Most importantly, this series will be very important in our preparations for the Asian Games to be held in China as it will help us to identify the areas in which we need to improve and make changes. So this series will be very important for us. India won the FIH Women’s Nations Cup in December last year by defeating hosts Spain and will take inspiration from this performance and will visit Australia with high morale. The Indian team is currently participating in a practice camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) campus in Bengaluru.
