‘Kirti’ became ‘free’ from Congress, took TMC’s hand, Mamta Banerjee got a big face in Bihar
New Delhi | Kirti Azad Joins TMC: In a setback to the Congress party ahead of the Assembly Election 2022, veteran leader Kirti Azad finally joined Mamta Banerjee’s party TMC on Tuesday. Along with Kirti Azad, former general secretary of Janata Dal (United) Pavan Varma has also joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC). During their Delhi visit, the Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have welcomed both the leaders into the party.

Said Azad – I will fight against those who divided the country
Kirti Azad Joins TMC: Former cricketer and veteran Congress leader Kirti Azad was elected to Lok Sabha thrice from Darbhanga parliamentary seat in Bihar. After joining TMC today, Azad said that Mamata Banerjee has fought on the ground. I will also fight against the people working to divide the country. Let us tell you that Kirti Azad was a member of the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning team. In December 2015, he was suspended from the BJP for targeting Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. After which he joined Congress in 2018 and today he has left Congress and joined TMC.
TMC got a big face in Bihar
Kirti Azad, who contested on Congress ticket in 2019, is a well-known big face of Bihar. Kirti Azad’s father has also been a Congress leader and the Chief Minister of Bihar. In such a situation, if Kirti Azad leaves Congress and goes to TMC, then TMC will get a big face for itself in Bihar.

Pawan Sharma, former advisor to Bihar CM and Rajya Sabha member
Former general secretary of Janata Dal (United) Pavan Verma has been a former advisor to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a member of the Rajya Sabha. Pavan Varma was expelled from the ruling JD(U) in the state in 2020. After joining TMC today, Pavan Varma praised Mamta Banerjee and said that, I hope that in the year 2024, Mamta Banerjee will win the national elections and occupy Delhi power.
