In relation to the decision of the government, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development Department Rajnish Dubey has issued orders to the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates of all the districts and directed them to strictly comply with it.

Yogi Govt New Order Issued: According to the order of the government, now meat will not be sold anywhere on the birth anniversary of great men and on Shivratri. On the birth anniversary of great men (Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti, Shivratri and the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani), meat shops will be closed in urban bodies besides slaughterhouses.

Arguing behind the ban on the sale of meat on the birth anniversary of great men, the government has said in its order that, in view of the great men and festivals giving the message of non-violence, their birth anniversary should be celebrated as non-violence day. Even before this, the Yogi government had banned the sale of meat in the open, tightening the noose on the illegal slaughter house.

After this order of the government, today on 25 November, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of saint TL Vaswani of Sindhi society, orders have been given to keep the slaughter house and meat shops closed in UP. In such a situation, orders have been issued to keep the meat shops closed in addition to the slaughterhouses located in all the urban bodies and all the officers have also been instructed to strictly follow the order.
