Omicron spread to 23 countries

New Delhi. A new variant of the corona virus is spreading around the world faster than Omicron Delta. So far, cases of this variant have been found in 23 countries. In view of the threat of this rapidly spreading variant, three countries have completely closed their country’s borders, while at least 30 countries have imposed strict restrictions on their border and foreign flights. Many countries have stopped flights from many African countries including South Africa. New guidelines have also been issued in India for flights coming from other countries.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Nigeria, Portugal, Reunion, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland till 9 pm on Wednesday Omicron cases were confirmed to have been found in the UK and South Korea. On Wednesday, infection of this variant has been confirmed in five people in South Korea. In view of the danger of this variant, countries around the world have started closing their borders. China has imposed strict restrictions on its border, only its citizens and permit holders are allowed to enter the country.

Apart from China, Hong Kong has banned visitors from South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe, and now includes Angola, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Zambia. Along with this, people who are not citizens of the country and had visited Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Israel and Italy in the last 21 days have also been included in this list. Japan, Portugal and Sweden have been included in this list on Wednesday.

Israel has banned people coming from abroad from entering the country for the next 14 days. Citizens of Israel who are outside the country will have to stay in Quarantine for 14 days upon their return. This rule will also apply to fully vaccinated people. Japan has closed its borders to people coming from abroad for a month. It also includes foreign students and businessmen. Morocco has suspended all incoming flights from other countries for two weeks. South Africa has the highest number of 77 cases of this variant. After that, the maximum number of 22 cases have been found in Britain.
