Private Bill could not be introduced in MP
New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party member in Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister K. Yes. Alphons could not introduce his private bill in the house today due to strong opposition from the opposition members. This bill was to amend the Preamble of the Constitution.

After the lunch break, Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Friday asked Mr. Alphons to get his non-official bill to be presented to the non-official MLA. ,Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2021 (Amendment of the Preamble), the House refused to allow it. As soon as Shri Harivansh sought the consent of the House to give permission to introduce this bill, Manoj Kumar Jha of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Tiruchi Shiva of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Vaiko of Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Jairam Ramesh of Congress refused, protesting strongly.

Due to this, there was noise in the house and the members of both the sides started speaking loudly. In view of this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Muraleedharan said that the decision to introduce this bill is left to the Chairman. To which the whole house agreed.
