Angry election commission sued

Lucknow. Angered by the crowd involved in the function held at the Samajwadi Party office on Friday, the Election Commission has filed a case. On the instructions of the Election Commission, the Collector of the district directed to register an FIR. Significantly, on Friday, six more MLAs along with two former ministers, Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharam Singh Saini, joined the SP. A huge crowd gathered on this occasion, due to which the corona protocol was violated. On the instructions of the Election Commission, the District Election Officer has directed to get this program investigated as well as to register an FIR under the Epidemic Act.

Despite the strict instructions of the Election Commission, the Samajwadi Party showed its strength by mobilizing a crowd in the name of virtual rally in the SP state office on Friday. Akhilesh Yadav, along with former minister Swami Prasad Maurya and his fellow MLAs, who rebelled from the BJP and joined the SP, violated the protocol by attending the rally. It is being told that the rally was organized in violation of the rules and protocol was not followed. The Commission has expressed strong displeasure over this. District Election Officer and District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash has sought a report of the incident and directed to file a report against the organisers.
