Wing Commander Abhinandan honored with ‘Veer Chakra’, who flew Pakistan’s F-16, he also got gallantry award
New Delhi | Gallantry Awards 2021: President of India Ram Nath Kovind honored the brave soldiers of the country who displayed indomitable courage for the security of the country, Defense Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Awarded Gallantry Award in Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman, who destroyed Pakistani fighter aircraft without caring for his life in the Balakot Air Strike, was awarded the Vir Chakra. Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter aircraft on February 27, 2019.

These heroes were honored with Shaurya Chakra
Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhondhiyal, who was martyred in the operation against terrorists, was also awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously. Major Vibhuti had killed 5 terrorists during his operation.
Gallantry Awards 2021: Martyr Nayab Subedar Sombir was also awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously. He had killed A-plus plus terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir and showed his valor. The President (Ram Nath Kovind) handed over this award to his wife.

Sapper Prakash Jadhav got ‘Kirti Chakra’
Many bravehearts of the Indian Army were honored with gallantry awards at the Defense Decoration Ceremony. In which Sapper Prakash Jadhav was posthumously awarded ‘Kirti Chakra’. President Ram Nath Kovind handed over this award to his wife and mother.
